Emilio Pucci’s Gypsies!
Emilio Pucci’s Spring Summer 2012 collection really sent some Indian chills down my spine. The print, colours and silhouette from these particular looks reminded me of the traditional Indian garment, the Lengha. It’s something the Indian Gypsies used to wear, kinda like the ones below which was taken at a Rajasthan Wedding.
The Lengha then evolved into something far more glamourous in Northern India, where the blouses just got shorter, and shorter.
I’m not saying that Emilio Pucci was inspired by the Indian outfits, but I’m just saying, I like that fact that they look rather similar. Maybe they should start calling these the Lenghas and not classify them as Maxi Skirts.
What did you think of these Emilio Pucci ‘gypsies’?

Snaps: Men’s Fashion Week Day 1
Day 1 of Men’s Fashion Week saw the opening of the BOSS Black fall/winter 11/12 Show.
Also, Kim-Choong Wilkins presented his debut collection, Bodybound which was all kinds of cool.
This is a really picture heavy post, so click through to feast your eyes on….
Men’s Fashion Week Press Conference & Preview
The best way to start a post on Men’s Fashion Week (MFW) is with the voice of MFW, Utt. Indeedy, he’s the only speaker Lenne took a photo of as well. Awesome hair huh?
Scheduled to occur in April, MFW is set to be the first of its kind in Asia with some of the most well known brands ready to show their menswear collection here.
The event was held at ION Sky on the 55th floor! (I didn’t even know ION had a 55th floor!) The view was spectacular from there and the entire event space was transformed to look exactly like the backstage of a fashion show complete with wardrobe look and makeup stations.
Male models were walking around chatting while having a sip of champagne. (I arrived late so didn’t get to mingle but I imagine Venetia, Lenna and Yusrina had a nice time men watching)
The show will showcase the autumn/winter 2011 collection of up to 15 brands including BOSS Black, Canali, Etro and Versace. That’s not all, 75% of the brands will have their desginer/creative director flown down for the show.
Venue has not been confirmed but organisers are eyeing the glorious Marina Bay Sands and 30% of the tickets will be made available for the public with prices starting from $40. This event is set to be both exclusive and inclusive.
And! Supermodel Philip Huang is set to be the face of MFW 2011. (Picture taken during the HUGO Show in Berlin)
I can’t wait to see what organisers have planned for us as there is also going to be a special segment to showcase local talent!
Stay tuned people!

Good things always come as surprises.
And that’s exactly what happened to me last week!
I entered a Hugo Boss contest and surprisingly I won! The best part was the prize, I am amongst the 5 reporters chosen to head to Berlin and report live from the Hugo Boss Fashion Show happening during the Mercedes Benz Berlin Fashion Week (phew! What a long sentence). Not only that, I’ll add in details on the backstage happenings as well!
It’s going to be a great experience especially since I’ve never been to Europe, let alone to Berlin. So stay tuned on Hugo Boss’s Facebook Page for more details on the show!
The great news doesn’t end here! There’s more!
This week, I’ll be heading to the Men’s Fashion Week Press Conference and Preview right here in Singapore!
And I’ve all you lovely readers to thank! Continue to stay with me and some great stuff will come your way.
